Underwriting Support Assistant (Professional & Management Risks)

About the role

We’re looking for an Underwriting Support Assistant to join our Professional & Management Risks (PMR) Renewals team in Leeds. This role offers a genuine opportunity to develop specialist skills and build a long‑term career with a global insurance business, with training provided.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound broker enquiries and provide outstanding service.
• Make proactive outbound calls to brokers to progress and retain business.
• Chase quotations, renewal terms and outstanding information.
• Support underwriters with policy administration and workflow management.
• Update systems and maintain accurate records.
• Manage your own portfolio of renewal activity and priorities.
• Build strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Support retention and growth by helping convert opportunities into business.
• Ensure cases are progressed efficiently and service standards are met.

Required profile

• Comfortable speaking with people over the phone.
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive and willing to take ownership.
• Customer‑focused and service‑driven.
• Resilient in a busy, high‑volume environment.
• Confident using Microsoft 365 and learning new systems.
• Motivated to learn and develop professionally.
• Able to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
