Unit Nurse Manager (RGN) – Care Home

About the role

As a Unit Nurse Manager (RGN) in a Barchester care home, you will lead a team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care for residents. You will use your clinical expertise and compassionate approach to ensure each resident receives safe, tailored support that enhances their daily lives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and monitor nursing delivery across the unit.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans and detailed risk assessments.
• Create and manage staff rotas, recruit, train and mentor nursing staff.
• Build and maintain relationships with local regulators, social services and other external partners.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to raise the standard of care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration.
• Proven experience in producing care plans and risk assessments.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Demonstrated leadership, having mentored newly qualified nurses.
• Resilient, ambitious and committed to delivering quality improvements.
