Unqualified English Teacher – Haringey (Sept 2026)

About the role

This position is for an Unqualified English Teacher at a Good‑rated secondary school in Haringey, starting September 2026. You will join a supportive department that values literacy and will receive mentoring from experienced qualified teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 under the guidance of qualified colleagues.
• Plan and adapt lesson content to develop reading comprehension, analytical writing and spoken communication.
• Provide targeted small‑group support and interventions to close literacy gaps.
• Contribute to department enrichment activities such as reading initiatives and creative writing programmes.
• Develop subject‑leadership skills with a view to progressing into formal teacher training.

Required profile

• 2:1 or First‑class degree in English, English Literature or a closely related discipline from a top‑30 UK university.
• Previous child‑centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued.
• Confident, articulate, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for literature and language.
• Legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
