Unqualified Primary Teaching Assistant – North Somerset

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join primary schools across North Somerset as Unqualified Teaching Assistants. This entry‑level position offers a fast‑track into education, supporting teachers and pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons for KS1 and KS2.
• Work one‑to‑one or with small groups, especially supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Help implement learning strategies, manage classroom routines and promote positive behaviour.
• Encourage student confidence, participation and independence.
• Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Loves working with young people and thrives in a team setting.
• Communicates clearly and confidently with students and staff.
• Shows patience, empathy and enthusiasm each school day.
• Adaptable, proactive and eager to learn.
• Previous experience in childcare, youth work, support work or coaching is preferred but not essential.
