Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for compassionate individuals to join our school team as Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistants. This temporary, full‑time position supports children with severe, profound and complex learning and physical needs, including complex autism.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help pupils engage in learning.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting and changing.
• Support mobility needs, including wheelchair transfers and hoisting.
• Deliver sensory‑based and play‑based activities tailored to each child.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and medical professionals to ensure safety and inclusion.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or adults with additional, physical or learning needs.
• Calm, patient and compassionate approach, especially with personal care.
• Willingness to learn about PICA, PEG feeding, epilepsy and related care protocols.
• Confidence supporting wheelchair users and following care plans.
• Ability to provide two years of employment references.
