Upstream Process Development Manager

About the role

SRG is seeking an experienced Upstream Process Development Manager to lead its Synthetic & Mammalian upstream capabilities. This senior position will guide multiple high‑complexity projects, ensuring teams deliver on time while maintaining the highest scientific standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and support teams of upstream scientists and engineers.
• Create structure and clarity for multiple concurrent projects.
• Manage resource allocation across a diverse portfolio, balancing workload and capability.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for upstream biologics processes.
• Act as a senior escalation point for technical, delivery and resource challenges.
• Engage with clients, partners and internal stakeholders to support bid development and customer interactions.
• Ensure compliance with SHE, GMP/GxP and data‑integrity requirements.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in upstream mammalian process development.
• Strong people‑management and programme‑management skills.
• Ability to lead high‑performing teams in a fast‑moving, multi‑project environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
