User Services Specialist – Data Support Team

About the role

The User Services Specialist will join ECMWF’s Data Support Team within the User Services Section of the Forecasts and Services Department. Working closely with scientists, software engineers, product owners and external contractors, you will help users of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) to access and utilise atmospheric, climate and environmental datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line assistance to users of the Climate Data Store (CDS) and Atmosphere Data Store (ADS) via chatbots, knowledge bases, forums and ticketing systems.
• Analyse user queries, troubleshoot data‑access issues and deliver timely, professional solutions.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to investigate complex problems and identify root causes.
• Contribute to the improvement of support platforms, documentation, forums and AI‑assisted support tools.
• Support the introduction of new services and features for ECMWF, CAMS and C3S.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of user requirements and data‑service workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Curiosity and initiative to investigate technical issues in depth.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
