Utility Arborist

About the role

As a Utility Arborist you will use your technical expertise to deliver first‑class vegetation management services for our customers’ overhead transmission and distribution networks. Safety is paramount and you will work alongside a team to evaluate, prepare and carry out tree‑cutting works across a variety of sites in the South West England region.

Key responsibilities

• Work within a team of arborists to deliver the scheduled work programme and meet delivery targets.
• Attend fault calls out of hours as part of a standby rota.
• Apply industry legislation and safety guidelines when working near power lines.
• Follow internal compliance standards and client expectations.
• Track work progress with the wider delivery team to ensure completion according to client requirements.

Required profile

• Previous utility arboriculture experience.
• Valid UK driving licence (B+E preferred).
• Familiarity with SSE Utility Tree Contract and related authorisations is desirable.

Required skills

• Certification on Utility arb units UA301, UA302, UA303, UA304, UA305.
• Certification on Chainsaw units CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39, CS40.
