Validation and Verification Engineer – Software Systems

About the role

You will join a specialist Validation and Verification team delivering high‑impact Command & Control (C2) software for national defence. The role bridges requirements capture, test scenario definition and system verification, giving you end‑to‑end ownership of complex software‑based subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of C2 software systems.
• Define test scenarios, success criteria and verification plans for C2 components.
• Collaborate with the Design Authority to select appropriate verification approaches.
• Contribute to systems engineering processes ensuring end‑to‑end functionality of defence solutions.
• Maintain and execute validation frameworks within a secure development environment.

Required profile

• Strong experience in systems design or systems engineering, preferably with software‑based equipment.
• Degree‑qualified or equivalent professional experience in a relevant technical field.
• Familiarity with SysML, IBM DOORS or Rhapsody (training can be provided).
• Proven ability to work in secure development environments and manage complex validation activities.
