VAT Advisory & Business Development Manager (Senior)

About the role

Our client, a leading finance advisory firm, is expanding its VAT practice in London and is looking for a VAT Advisory & Business Development Manager (Senior Manager) to drive growth and deliver high‑value VAT consulting services. The role combines client‑facing advisory work with the responsibility of generating new business across financial‑services and other VAT‑sensitive sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with firm‑wide strategy, working closely with the VAT Partner and BD team.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with existing clients, turning enquiries into consulting projects.
• Lead specialist VAT engagements such as due‑diligence reviews, VAT audits and complex return preparation.
• Manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
• Mentor and appraise junior team members, supporting their professional development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in VAT advisory within a professional‑services environment.
• Demonstrated success in business development and winning new projects.
• Strong understanding of UK VAT rules, cross‑border VAT, VAT on income streams and dispute resolution.
• Leadership and people‑management capabilities.
