Vehicle Recovery Driver – 7.5t & HGV Class 1/2

About the role

Join Hough Green Garage, a leading 24/7 breakdown and recovery service, as a Vehicle Recovery Driver. You will operate 7.5‑ton and HGV Class 1/2 vehicles, responding to incidents across Burnley and the wider North West region.

Key responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns and accident scenes on motorways and major routes.
• Safely recover and transport vehicles to depots or customer locations.
• Perform vehicle checks and keep the yard and vehicle tidy.
• Record jobs using the company PDA system.
• Assist with moving vehicles within the depot when required.

Required profile

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Proven driving experience (recovery experience desirable but not essential).
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
• Ability to work independently under pressure.
• Clean driving record and eligibility for police vetting.
• Good local geographical knowledge.
• Basic mechanical understanding preferred.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including on‑call requirements.
