Vehicle Technician – Automotive Mechanic

About the role

Our client, a busy main dealer in Kent, is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join their after‑sales team. This full‑time position offers a clear progression path towards supervisory and management roles within a respected automotive brand.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Complete accurate diagnostic reports and document all work carried out.
• Work to manufacturer‑set timings to maintain workshop productivity.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Provide professional communication with colleagues and customers to ensure high satisfaction.
• Mentor junior technicians and develop towards assistant‑manager duties.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a prestige dealership or similar environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Motivated, target‑driven and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Vehicle maintenance and repair techniques.
• Diagnostic troubleshooting and reporting.
• Knowledge of high‑voltage EV/Hybrid systems (preferred).
