Vehicle Technician – Automotive Workshop (Basingstoke)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic to join a reputable, high‑volume automotive workshop in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The successful candidate will work independently, delivering quality service and repairs on a variety of vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Carry out MOT testing and support MOT preparation.
• Conduct diagnostic testing to identify vehicle faults.
• Complete all paperwork to the highest standards.
• Provide overtime support, particularly on busy Saturdays.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Vehicle Technician (NVQ Level 3) or equivalent.
• Current, valid UK driving licence.
• Dedicated, proactive approach with a passion for automotive work.
• Own set of vehicle technician tools.

Required skills

• Vehicle servicing and repair.
• Diagnostic testing and fault identification.
• MOT testing (MOT Tester licence beneficial).
• Use of workshop tools and equipment.

What we offer

• Competitive basic salary up to £45,000 per year.
• Uncapped OTE, typically around £5,000+.
• Monday‑Friday schedule (8:30 am‑6:30 pm) with stable workshop hours.
• 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
• Strong overtime availability, especially on Saturdays.
• Training for MOT Tester licence if required.
