Vehicle Technician – Full‑time – £30‑40k

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a respected independent automotive retailer in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The position is full‑time, permanent and based in a modern, well‑equipped workshop, offering a stable Monday‑Friday 8:30‑5:30 schedule with a Saturday shift (8:30‑12:30).

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
• Carry out pre‑delivery inspections (PDIs) on new and used vehicles.
• Replace cambelts, clutches, brakes, steering and suspension components.
• Diagnose faults and execute effective repairs using diagnostic equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with manufacturer safety standards.
• Maintain accurate job records and documentation.
• Communicate clearly with customers and workshop team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar automotive role.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
