Vehicle Technician – Independent Workshop

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a well‑established, family‑run motor trade service centre in Redhill, Surrey. The role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of makes and models, including emerging electric vehicle (EV) technologies, within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and complex repairs on vehicles, covering clutches, cam belts, timing chains/belts, suspension, brakes, pads, and discs.
• Diagnose faults, recommend appropriate repairs, and replace faulty components.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records and test repaired systems to ensure quality.
• Assist colleagues with challenging repairs and support continuous professional development through manufacturer training.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years’ experience in a main dealership, service centre, or fast‑fit workshop.
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in automotive maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and repair abilities with knowledge of all vehicle makes, preferably including EV systems.
• Excellent communication skills and a practical commuting distance to Redhill.
