Vehicle Technician – Specialist Vehicles (Training Provided)

About the role

We are seeking a Vehicle Technician to work on specialist adapted vehicles, including HGVs, PCVs and military‑type machines. The role is based in Slough and offers a structured training plan to develop both mechanical and electrical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and planned service work on a range of specialist vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and keep customers informed of progress.
• Work closely with the depot manager and controller to meet service targets.
• Follow an individual training plan to become proficient in all aspects of the role.

Required profile

• Experience working on HGVs, PCVs, tankers, sweepers or similar large vehicles.
• Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or BTEC in vehicle technology.
• Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently after training.

Required skills

• Mechanical repair of heavy vehicles.
• Electrical diagnostics and wiring.
• Hydraulic system maintenance.
• Use of diagnostic tools for fault identification.
