Vence Collar Tech Lead

About the role

The Vence Collar Tech Lead will drive the technical design and delivery of an animal‑wearable collar, guiding it from concept through to mass production. Working within the Vence core product team, you will ensure the device is robust, manufacturable, reliable and scalable for farm environments.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture for the collar, covering electronics, mechanics, embedded software, RF communications and system integration.
• Lead design decisions to meet performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost targets while aligning with core platform strategies.
• Collaborate with product management, R&D, NPI, operations and supply‑chain partners to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Develop and execute validation strategies, technical acceptance criteria and risk mitigation plans for launch and ongoing production.
• Monitor and report key product metrics such as field failure rates, battery life, unit cost and yield, using data to guide continuous improvement.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of technical leadership or project management experience on multidisciplinary hardware products.
• Proven track record delivering mass‑production wireless IoT or wearable devices.
• Experience working across geographically distributed teams in medium to large organisations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
