Venture Solution Architect

About the role

Join E.ON's internal venture studio in Nottingham and help shape a zero‑carbon future. As a Venture Solution Architect you will translate bold ideas into secure, scalable technical solutions that drive new energy ventures from concept to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design robust, cloud‑native architectures for 0‑to‑1 ventures, ensuring scalability and future growth.
• Build rapid prototypes and technical proof‑of‑concepts to validate feasibility and accelerate time‑to‑market.
• Lead technology, data and security approval processes, aligning with business governance.
• Collaborate closely with Entrepreneurs in Residence, product managers, developers and external suppliers to create clear technical blueprints.
• Assess and select modern tech stacks, third‑party tools and cloud infrastructure to give ventures a competitive edge.
• Hand over developed solutions to operational teams after the acceleration phase.
• Implement secure‑by‑design architectures that meet energy sector compliance standards.
• Guide venture teams on technical trade‑offs and help craft roadmaps for investment pitches.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing cloud‑native applications on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Deep knowledge of microservices and API‑first design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to untangle complex requirements.
• Familiarity with lean‑startup and rapid‑prototyping methodologies.
• Excellent communicator who can translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
• Self‑starter with a bias for action, willing to write code when needed.
