Venue Health and Safety Advisor – London

About the role

You will be responsible for safeguarding the health and safety of all activities at a busy conference and events venue in London. Working closely with operational teams, you will provide expert advice, conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead health and safety compliance across the venue, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Provide expert guidance on risk management, policies and safe working practices.
• Oversee building, plant and infrastructure safety, ensuring statutory compliance.
• Support safe planning and delivery of live events, exhibitions and conferences.
• Manage contractor safety, including RAMS reviews, permits to work and compliance monitoring.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations and corrective action processes.
• Support fire safety, emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.
• Oversee water hygiene and Legionella control programmes.
• Conduct audits, inspections and compliance reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
• Deliver safety training, maintain documentation and foster a positive safety culture.

Required profile

• NEBOSH and IOSH certifications (essential).
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and creating safety policies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide clear guidance.
• Problem‑solving ability to address safety concerns effectively.
• Experience in venues, conference centres, exhibition spaces or similar public‑facing environments is beneficial.
