Veterinary Receptionist

About the role
Join Dovecote Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Receptionist and become the first point of contact for pet owners. You will manage communications, appointments, and client interactions while supporting the veterinary team in delivering exceptional care.
Key responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments and manage the practice calendar.
- Greet and register clients, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
- Process insurance forms, dispense medication, and handle financial transactions accurately.
- Provide empathetic support to clients during stressful situations.
- Maintain patient records using the in‑house practice management system.
- Liaise with other veterinary practices to resolve patient queries.
- Manage debt, refunds and related phone communications.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a receptionist; veterinary experience is a plus.
- Resilience and ability to handle emotional situations with grace.
- Strong communication skills and genuine empathy.
- Positive attitude, teamwork orientation and excellent customer service.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
