Veterinary Receptionist – Part‑time

About the role

We are looking for an organised and personable Receptionist to join our small‑animal practice in Ashbourne on a part‑time basis. As the first point of contact for clients, you will help create a welcoming and professional experience for pet owners and their animals.

Key responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, answering enquiries in a friendly and compassionate manner.
• Manage appointment scheduling and maintain the practice diary.
• Handle phone calls, emails and walk‑in queries, directing them to the appropriate team members.
• Support client communications, including reminders and follow‑up messages.
• Collaborate closely with clinical and non‑clinical staff to ensure a smooth client and patient journey.
• Provide Saturday cover on a rota basis as required.

Required profile

• Friendly, organised and customer‑focused with excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience in a customer‑facing role, demonstrating attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
• Collaborative attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• Proactive mindset with openness to feedback and learning.
