Vice President, Corporate Development (Europe)

About the role

The Vice President of Corporate Development for Europe will be based in London and report to the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Corporate Development at Mastercard. The role leads the identification, development and execution of strategic inorganic growth opportunities across the European region, including equity investments, acquisitions and joint ventures.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage the European corporate development pipeline in partnership with Regional Presidents, Division Presidents and product teams.
• Collaborate with in‑country leadership to define target investment profiles aligned with regional product and market strategies.
• Generate investment rationales by working with global business units, sales and product executives to map growth strategies to potential acquisitions or strategic investments.
• Maintain active market engagement with private equity, venture capital, investment banks and other sources to ensure visibility of opportunities.
• Source, screen and prioritize investment candidates, develop business cases and lead deal execution.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams across Mastercard to gather information, assess strategic fit and drive successful transaction completion.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate development, M&A or strategic investment within the payments, fintech or related financial services sectors.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize market trends, competitive dynamics and financial data.
• Proven track record of managing complex cross‑border transactions and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English.
