Vice President, Structured Credit Trading (London/Madrid)

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking an experienced Vice President to join its Structured Credit Trading team, based in either London or Madrid. You will work within a fast‑growing global franchise, shaping trading strategies through innovation and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Price, execute and hedge structured credit and hybrid transactions, including repacks and Credit Linked Notes (CLNs).
• Actively manage trading risk, adjusting positions to optimise portfolio performance while respecting risk limits.
• Mentor and train junior team members, enhancing technical capabilities across the desk.
• Create, maintain and improve trading monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with Quantitative Analysts, Structurers and Support functions on new product development initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in credit, hybrids, structured rates or XVA trading/structuring/quant roles.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced trading environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and an entrepreneurial, delivery‑oriented mindset.
• Higher qualification (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Economics or a related field.
• Fluency in Spanish or another European language is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI‑augmented coding tools is desirable.
