About the role

The Vice Principal – Business Development & Employer Engagement will lead strategic partnership initiatives for Hugh Baird College, driving new income streams and enhancing employer collaboration across the Liverpool City Region. This senior leadership position offers the chance to shape the future of skills development, education delivery and community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive employer‑engagement strategy.
• Build and nurture relationships with local businesses, industry bodies and community stakeholders.
• Identify and secure partnership opportunities that generate revenue and improve student outcomes.
• Lead projects that increase student employability, work placements and apprenticeship pathways.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of engagement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or employer engagement within education or a related sector.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification; professional certifications are advantageous.
