Virtual Build Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Virtual Build Engineer to join a well‑established automotive manufacturing business in Woking. You will lead virtual build activities, ensuring designs are manufacturable and meet project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the Virtual Build Engineer process across new vehicle projects.
• Conduct fit‑ment studies, DMU analysis and virtual ergonomic checks for tooling and operator reachability.
• Create and manage Virtual Build timing plans to meet MDP deliverables.
• Review vehicle BOMs (E‑BOM and M‑BOM) and coordinate build station allocation with Manufacturing Engineering teams.
• Chair Virtual Build events, produce status reports and drive resolution of open items.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar virtual build, manufacturing feasibility or digital manufacturing role within the automotive sector.
• Strong project‑style delivery mindset with attention to detail and structured problem‑solving.
• Willingness to travel to off‑site development facilities as needed.

Required skills

• Advanced 3D CAD capability – preferably 3DX or VPM, with CATIA V5/V6 also acceptable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting.
• Experience with DMU analysis and virtual build simulation tools.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £52,000 per annum (DOE).
• Full‑time permanent contract with a 40‑hour week, Monday‑Friday.
• Relocation assistance of £3,000‑£5,000 for candidates moving to Surrey.
