Visual Arts Tutor – Film & Media (0.8 FTE)

About the role

Hays Education, in partnership with a forward‑thinking further education provider in East London, is seeking a Visual Arts Tutor specialising in Film & Media. The role is part‑time (0.8 FTE) and involves delivering industry‑relevant teaching to 16‑19‑year‑olds across visual arts pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high‑quality lessons in film, graphics, photography and related visual arts subjects.
• Provide tutorial and pastoral support to promote academic and personal development.
• Track student progress, attendance and achievement, and maintain accurate records.
• Contribute to curriculum development, course planning and enrichment activities such as trips and industry engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high teaching standards and positive learner outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant visual arts discipline.
• Experience delivering high‑quality teaching and assessment to 16‑19 learners.
• Strong subject knowledge across visual arts, film, media, graphics or photography.
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing.
• Desirable: teaching qualification (or in progress) and industry experience in film, media, graphics or photography.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar visual‑arts software.
