Vocational Assessor – Industrial Cleaning & Waste Management

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Vocational Assessor specialised in Industrial Cleaning and Waste Management to support learners at HMP Leyhill. You will deliver NVQ qualifications, guide learners through assessments and help them build the skills needed for employment in the sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct travel and workplace assessments across the assigned region.
• Provide feedback, guidance and support to learners pursuing NVQ qualifications.
• Collect and verify evidence of learners' competence.
• Evaluate performance against NVQ standards and deliver constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of learner progress and assessment outcomes.
• Plan and deliver training sessions where required.
• Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with awarding organisation standards.
• Collaborate with prison managers and external employers.

Required profile

• Possess an Assessors Award or equivalent (e.g., CAVA).
• Recent assessing experience (within the last six months).
• Ability to work independently and travel to multiple workplaces.
• Strong communication skills for delivering feedback and guidance.
