VP Information Security

About the role

The Deputy CISO will act as the principal delegate to the CISO, leading the day‑to‑day execution of GXO Logistics' global cyber security programme. Based in Northampton, you will shape strategy, drive security operations and embed security across a complex logistics ecosystem that includes WMS/TMS platforms, warehouse robotics, IoT and OT.

Key responsibilities

• Support the CISO in translating risk appetite into an actionable security strategy and multi‑year roadmap.
• Chair executive security governance forums and oversee enterprise security governance mechanisms.
• Lead Security Architecture and Engineering, ensuring "secure‑by‑default" across cloud, application, data, identity and infrastructure.
• Govern the security tooling strategy (build vs. buy vs. MSSP) and maximise value from SIEM, SOAR, IAM, PAM, EDR, DLP, DSPM and CTI platforms.
• Own SOC performance, DFIR, threat hunting, ransomware preparedness and crisis playbooks.
• Drive vulnerability management, secure‑by‑design development and continuous improvement of the TVM function.
• Ensure audit readiness, control effectiveness (SOX/ITGC, NIST/ISO), and lead policy lifecycle and attestations.
• Manage third‑party risk and regulatory alignment, providing executive reporting and board briefings.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in information security, preferably within a logistics or technology‑intensive environment.
• Strong track record of building and running global security operations and governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills for executive and regulator interactions.
• Ability to partner with business units and influence product and platform roadmaps.
