VP of Engineering (Healthtech Scale-up)

About the role

Join a fast‑growing, cash‑flow positive healthtech scale‑up serving 20% of the UK population. As the VP of Engineering you will be the single most senior engineering leader, reporting directly to the CEO and accountable for the global engineering function.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall technical strategy for the company.
• Lead and mentor a high‑performance team of 15+ elite engineers, many of whom are former founders.
• Build a hiring engine to grow the team to 25+ all‑stars while maintaining an elite talent bar.
• Transform the engineering culture into an agent‑native environment where AI agents are orchestrated by humans to deliver software continuously.
• Ensure world‑class engineering standards, reduce churn, and drive rapid product delivery.

Required profile

• Proven track record as a VP of Engineering or equivalent in a high‑growth startup.
• Former top‑performing individual contributor with deep technical credibility.
• 3‑5 years of leadership experience managing recruiting, performance, and organizational scaling.
