Waking Night Support Worker

About the role

The Waking Night Support Worker provides person‑centred care throughout the night for adults with complex physical and mental health needs in a specialist care home.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a calm, safe environment and respond to residents' individual needs with professionalism and compassion.
• Support residents with night‑time routines, wellbeing checks and personal care, ensuring dignity and comfort.
• Carry out regular night comfort checks and complete the medication round.
• Maintain accurate records, report concerns, accidents or incidents, and escalate to the on‑call team when required.
• Perform scheduled night cleaning tasks and help keep the environment clean and well‑organised.
• Collaborate with the night team to deliver consistent, person‑centred care.

Required profile

• Experience in a care or support environment is beneficial.
• Medication training and competency in administration is advantageous.
• Calm, reliable and compassionate approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations.
• Confidence supporting individuals with complex physical and mental health needs.

Required skills

What we offer

• £12.71 per hour, contracted to 36 hours per week.
• Paid DBS check, pension scheme and uniform provided.
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full‑time contract).
