Waking Night Support Worker – Mental Health Social Care

About the role

Join Look Ahead’s Mental Health Social Care Service as a Waking Night Support Worker, providing compassionate assistance to adults in Redbridge during night hours. You will help create a safe, supportive environment while promoting independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with service users and maintain a positive atmosphere.
• Assist with personal hygiene, cleaning, and upkeep of accommodation.
• Prepare void flats for new arrivals and support move‑in processes.
• Record and report incidents, handover notes, and use the NHS RiO system.
• Collaborate with team members and partner organisations to manage caseloads.
• Follow lone‑working protocols and health‑and‑safety procedures, including fire risk assessments.

Required profile

• Motivated, compassionate and resilient with a genuine interest in mental health support.
• Legally eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and adhere to safety guidelines.

Required skills

• NHS RiO system proficiency
