Waking Nights Support Worker – Residential Childcare

About the role
Join a newly opened children’s residential home in Wimborne, providing overnight support for up to three children with complex emotional, behavioural and learning needs. You will work the 10 pm‑8 am shift, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment throughout the night.
Key responsibilities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Support evening, bedtime and settling routines.
- Promote independence and help develop essential life‑skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a safe residential setting.
- Follow care plans, daily routines and risk assessments (training provided).
- Monitor children’s wellbeing and conduct hourly welfare checks.
- Perform light domestic duties to keep the home comfortable.

What we offer
- £14.50‑£15.50 per hour (higher rate with Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification).
- Additional payments for overnight shifts.
- Full‑time contract averaging 40 hours per week.
