Ward Controller – Logistics (Band 3)

About the role

The Ward Controller – Logistics coordinates the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of clinical and non‑clinical products to wards, theatres and other departments. You will maintain optimal stock levels, support inventory management and ensure continuous product availability across the Trust.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of supplies to clinical areas.
• Maintain stock levels in line with agreed ROQ/ROL targets.
• Process orders and inventory transactions using EDC, hand scanners, e‑catalogues, warehouse systems, Sage, Genesis, CMM and other Trust systems.
• Replenish pharmaceutical products according to pharmacy stock portfolios.
• Ensure safe handling, transportation and delivery of medicines and supplies.
• Maintain accurate stock records and support efficient inventory control.
• Resolve day‑to‑day logistics queries and escalate issues when required.
• Collaborate with clinical and non‑clinical teams to support operational efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in logistics and supply chain.

Required profile

• Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Willingness to undertake fire warden training.
• Valid driving licence.
• Experience in stock controlling or supply chain function.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
