Ward Hostess/Host

About the role

We are seeking a Ward Hostess/Host to join Medirest’s Patient Dining team at a hospital in Wembley, London. In this full‑time, on‑site role you will create a welcoming environment for patients, helping them with their nutrition and hydration needs throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide menus, take patient orders and answer dietary or allergen queries.
• Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner refreshments and meals.
• Clear ward areas, wash dishes and ensure the kitchen is ready for the next service.
• Liaise with ward staff to meet patient needs promptly.
• Deliver excellent customer service, always putting the patient first.

Required profile

• Awareness of food and hygiene standards.
• Passionate about patient care and able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and healthcare staff.
• Capable of working under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable in a hospital environment and able to handle distressed patients.
• Willingness to learn and go the extra mile for patients.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
