Warehouse Mechanical Technician

About the role

This position is a hands‑on, workshop‑based role supporting a well‑established engineering business in the Southampton area. You will be responsible for testing, checking and preparing specialist equipment for customer dispatch, while also assisting with minor engineering modifications and warehouse duties.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out equipment testing and electrical checks on 24VAC, 230V and 400V control panels.
• Identify faults, record test results and ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform minor equipment modifications, install pumps and bypass systems, and use hand tools safely.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, operate a counter‑balance forklift, receive and store incoming equipment.
• Pick, pack and prepare equipment for customer orders, maintaining an organised workshop and warehouse.
• Support customer Factory Acceptance Testing, demonstrations and occasional service‑team tasks.

Required profile

• Experience working with 24VAC, 230V or 400V control panels.
• Background in engineering, manufacturing, electrical or workshop environments.
• Comfortable following technical testing procedures and documenting results.
• Strong practical problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
