Warehouse Operative & Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Warehouse Operative / Administrator to join our busy freight forwarding warehouse in Basildon. The role involves safely receiving, storing, handling and dispatching freight while maintaining accurate stock records and complying with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound freight, check deliveries against documentation and inspect for damage.
• Label, sort, store and pick orders, preparing them for dispatch.
• Load and unload vehicles, build and wrap pallets to transport standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment and carry out regular stock checks.
• Operate counterbalance and/or reach forklift trucks safely to move freight and stack pallets.
• Conduct daily forklift safety inspections and report any defects immediately.

Required profile

• Valid forklift licence (counterbalance or reach).
• Ability to follow safe operating procedures and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Attention to detail when checking deliveries and maintaining inventory records.
