Warehouse Operative – Darlington

About the role

Our client in Darlington is looking for motivated Warehouse Operatives to join a fast‑moving distribution environment. You will be responsible for handling incoming pallets, maintaining inventory order, and ensuring the warehouse remains clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload and process incoming pallets.
• Organise and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Carry out quality control checks on received goods.
• Keep the warehouse tidy and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pump trucks and, where qualified, forklifts.
• Support additional warehouse tasks as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a warehouse or similar role.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Good communication skills.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (certification is a plus).
• Pump‑truck/pallet‑truck operation.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £14.58, rising to £18.23 for any hours worked after 10 pm.
• Weekly pay on Fridays.
• 5‑day work week over 7 days with a rotating weekend schedule (2 weekends on, 1 weekend off).
• Drug and alcohol testing prior to start and randomly during employment.
