Warehouse Operative

About the role

Booker Group is hiring Warehouse Operatives for its Thamesmead distribution centre. The role involves fast‑paced order handling in a team‑focused environment, ensuring accurate picking and timely delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders using a handheld terminal.
• Receive, store and stack stock safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe and compliant work area.
• Work assigned shift patterns – PM (14:00‑22:00) or Night (22:00‑06:00) with a 20% night premium.
• Complete a mandatory drug and alcohol test before starting.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work quickly.
• Team‑oriented mindset with good communication.
• Willingness to work full‑time shifts, including nights.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing.

Required skills

• Handheld terminal operation for order picking.
• Forklift (LLOP/FLT) operation – training provided for successful candidates.
