Warehouse Operative – Stock Management & Forklift

About the role

Join Howdens Joinery as a Warehouse Operative, supporting the smooth running of our Borehamwood depot. You’ll ensure trade customers receive the right products on time by keeping stock organised, safe and ready for dispatch in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and verify stock quantities against documentation while adhering to health‑and‑safety standards.
• Perform daily checks and routine maintenance on forklift trucks and other equipment.
• Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular inventory checks.
• Prepare and organise stock for collection or delivery, ensuring proper rotation and cleanliness of the warehouse.
• Assist trade customers with a professional, helpful service and support general depot operations.

Required profile

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong attention to detail when handling stock and maintaining records.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time‑management skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with clear communication.

Required skills

• Valid forklift licence (desirable).
