Warehouse Person – Stock Handling & Forklift

About the role

Join Howdens Joinery as a Warehouse Person and play a key part in keeping the depot running smoothly. You will ensure trade customers receive the right stock at the right time while maintaining high health and safety standards in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and accurately check stock against health and safety standards.
• Carry out daily checks on forklift trucks and other equipment.
• Prepare stock securely for dispatch and support collections and deliveries.
• Perform regular stock checks and maintain precise records.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organised and efficient through effective stock rotation.
• Provide a professional, helpful service to trade customers.
• Collaborate with the wider depot team to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Valid forklift licence (desirable).
• Good understanding of stock control and health & safety.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time‑management skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with clear communication.
• Reliable, hands‑on approach and pride in a tidy warehouse.
