Warehouse Team Leader (Full‑time)

About the role

Well Placed HR is recruiting for a growing Cornwall‑based business looking for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of a busy warehouse operation. The warehouse manages around 4,500 stock lines, with daily deliveries across Cornwall as well as nationwide carrier and pallet network deliveries. You will lead the warehouse team, keep goods moving, ensure customer orders are dispatched on time and work closely with the wider business to keep everything running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the warehouse.
• Lead and support the warehouse team to achieve KPIs and deadlines.
• Manage goods‑in, goods‑out, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Coordinate deliveries via company vans, carriers and pallet networks.
• Work closely with purchasing to manage stock levels, space and shortages.
• Act as the main link between the warehouse and office teams, resolving issues and maintaining communication.
• Complete goods‑in/goods‑out paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out stock counts and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse, performing health‑and‑safety checks.
• Manage holidays and provide cover for warehouse and driver staff, including occasional driver duties.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and share ideas with the General Manager.
• Hold the warehouse key as a keyholder.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in a warehouse environment.
• Previous team‑leader or supervisory experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience of picking, packing, goods‑in/goods‑out and dispatch.
• Confidence using digital delivery or warehouse management systems.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive company vans.
• Practical, reliable, friendly attitude and willingness to get hands‑on.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (training can be provided).
• Full UK driving licence.
