Warehouse Team Leader

About the role

Our client, a leading manufacturing business in Lancashire, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily warehouse operations. You will be responsible for maintaining safety, quality and productivity standards while supporting uninterrupted production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team to meet departmental objectives.
• Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
• Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and operational performance.
• Manage raw material stock levels to support continuous production.
• Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to identify and implement operational improvements.
• Develop, review and maintain SOPs and risk assessments.
• Support continuous improvement, energy reduction and waste management initiatives.
• Facilitate effective communication between warehouse, production and other departments.
• Conduct regular shift briefings and convey key business updates.
• Oversee employee performance, appraisals, attendance and disciplinary matters.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development of warehouse staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader, Supervisor or similar leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice.
• Excellent people management and team motivation skills.
• Experience managing performance, attendance and employee development.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills.

• Salary £28,000 – £32,000 per year
• 15% shift allowance
• Double days shift pattern
