Warehouse Worker – London

About the role

The U.S. Embassy in London is seeking a reliable Warehouse Worker to manage the safe handling, storage and distribution of both expendable and non‑expendable items. Working within the General Services Office, you will report to the Warehouse Team Leader and support daily warehouse operations across the embassy estate.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload furniture, appliances and other goods from trucks and vans.
• Organise, prepare and deliver items to office buildings, residential properties and other locations.
• Operate forklifts, trolleys and other mechanical equipment to move heavy items safely.
• Pack, unpack and deliver welcome kits and distribute expendable supplies as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness, security and conduct routine safety inspections of storage areas.
• Maintain inventory logs, perform annual warehouse inventories and assist with residential inventories.
• Provide manual assistance during official visits, escort visitors and support other sections as required.

Required profile

• Minimum education: completion of primary school.
• At least two years of manual labour or warehouse experience.
• Good working knowledge of English (spoken, read and written).
• Valid full manual UK/EU/EEA driver’s licence for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.

Required skills

• Forklift operation.
• Use of warehouse equipment such as trolleys and pallet jacks.
• Manual handling of heavy items.
• Driving a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes with a full manual licence.
