Waste & Recycling Operative – Loader

About the role

Join the Waste & Recycling team in Warrington and help keep the community clean and green. As a Waste Collection Loader you will work outdoors, collect household waste and recycling, and provide friendly service to residents.

Key responsibilities

• Collect household waste and recycling safely and efficiently across the borough.
• Assist residents with a positive attitude and deliver excellent customer service.
• Provide recycling information and promote environmental initiatives.
• Report street‑scene issues such as fly‑tipping, graffiti, potholes and other environmental concerns.
• Handle bins, containers and equipment responsibly.
• Support and guide less experienced team members when required.
• Attend training to keep skills and knowledge up to date.

Required profile

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good teamwork skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Reliability, punctuality and willingness to get stuck in.

Required skills

• Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.
• Ability to operate waste collection equipment safely.
