Waste Segregation Officer (Basingstoke)

About the role

We are looking for an ad‑hoc Waste Segregation Officer to provide holiday and sickness cover for our Basingstoke client. The role starts immediately and involves organising waste on‑site, ensuring it is correctly sorted into recycling and non‑recycling streams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, sort and dispose of waste according to company procedures and environmental regulations.
• Operate waste handling equipment such as compactors and balers safely.
• Load and unload waste containers using proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain clean and hazard‑free waste areas and conduct routine inspections.
• Liaise with customers on‑site to address any issues or special requirements.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times, wearing safety boots and orange hi‑vis clothing.

Required profile

• Reliability and strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Physical capability to handle manual lifting and operate equipment.
• Willingness to work on‑site Monday‑Saturday, 7 am‑12 pm.
