Water/Wastewater Engineer – Birmingham, AL

About the role

Waggoner Engineering is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to support planning, design, and technical assistance for civil works projects in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on delivering projects on time and within budget while collaborating with the Discipline Manager and design team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform computer‑based engineering analyses and evaluations for civil works projects.
• Design water distribution, water supply and treatment, sanitary sewer, transmission, treatment, disposal systems, and POTWs.
• Assess existing system conditions and recommend remedial measures.
• Maintain written and verbal communication with clients throughout project phases.
• Conduct project status reviews, attend management meetings, and monitor project timelines.
• Assist Project Manager with engineering studies, reports, and contract documents.
• Prepare design deliverables using sound engineering principles and appropriate software tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

Required skills
