Weekend Kitchen Assistant (Part‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to work weekends in a resident‑focused catering environment. The role is part‑time, permanent and offers the chance to support high‑quality meal preparation and service for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food, set up service areas for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Maintain kitchen and dining‑room cleanliness, including storerooms and external storage.
• Check deliveries for quality, unpack and store goods, rotate stock and remove out‑of‑date items.
• Assist the Chef Manager with daily service operations, deliveries and stock control.
• Follow health and safety food regulations at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to follow instructions from the Chef Manager and Catering Manager.
• Comfortable engaging with elderly and vulnerable customers in a caring manner.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and work well as part of a team.

Required skills

• Basic computer use for online training and simple systems.

What we offer

• £13.45 per hour.
• 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), increasing with service.
• Up to 8% contributory pension.
• Permanent, part‑time contract with regular weekend hours (Saturday & Sunday, 10:00‑14:00).
