Weekend Support Worker

About the role

This part‑time, permanent position offers the chance to support women with complex needs in a refuge setting over weekends. You will work alongside a dedicated team to provide trauma‑informed, person‑centred care, helping residents build confidence and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive professional relationships, provide practical and emotional support, and encourage independence.
• Deliver daily living, wellbeing, leisure, creative and therapeutic activities.
• Welcome and induct new residents, completing welfare and building checks.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and respond calmly to challenging situations.
• Collaborate with criminal‑justice and support agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
• Act as Fire Warden and First Aider when required.

Required profile

• Occupational requirement: open to women only, in line with Equality Act 2010.
• Good literacy and numeracy, understanding of safeguarding.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure.
• Professional approach with appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
• Organised, able to maintain accurate records and work the weekend pattern (including bank holidays).
