Welcome Team Coordinator – Patient Receptionist

About the role

The Welcome Team Coordinator provides a warm, calm and professional in‑person experience for patients attending NHS practices in South East London. Working at the front of house, you will greet patients, support safe patient flow and help ensure accurate patient information and observations.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors to the practice.
• Support safe and smooth patient flow throughout the day.
• Use empathy and de‑escalation skills to manage difficult situations.
• Collect and record patient observations and medical vitals.
• Maintain clean, safe and welcoming reception and waiting areas.
• Escalate urgent in‑person concerns when needed.
• Open and close the practice, including locking up.

Required profile

• Enjoys working directly with people.
• Clear, compassionate communication skills.
• Calm and professional under pressure.
• Organised and comfortable using IT systems.
• Team player who cares about patient experience and quality care.
• Healthcare experience helpful but not essential; full training provided.
