Welder Fabricator – Full‑Time Engineering Role

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join our busy engineering team in Dover. The role involves hands‑on fabrication and welding across a dynamic operational environment, both indoors and outdoors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out fabrication and welding repairs on a wide range of plant and equipment using MMA, MMAW and GTAW techniques.
• Manufacture components and structures from engineering drawings.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Support day‑to‑day operations of the mechanical workshop.
• Accurately record maintenance activities in an ERP system.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Collaborate with operational teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Assist in sourcing materials and engineering components.
• Provide technical guidance to apprentices and colleagues.
• Participate in standby, call‑out and overtime rotas as required.

Required profile

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in welding and fabrication.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Good IT proficiency, particularly with maintenance or ERP systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proactive attitude with excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
